Scholastic incentives do work!
To support Barnard Brown Elementary School’s behavior management system, the student success committee created a program to reward good behavior. Students were recognized and rewarded with Mega Education® scholastic incentives. As a result, student behaviors have improved and students reminded their friends to follow behavior expectations. A challenge to the students was posted: the grade level with the most students on good behavior would receive a circus ticket to the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey at the XL Center in Hartford, May 8th, courtesy of Mega Education®!
Evidence of students trying their best to follow the behavior expectations was charted with graphs outside the main office. Teachers had their students graph the data, which aligned to district, state and CMT standards. Guess what? It worked! Behavior improved and the students were a motivation to each other.
