CMT & CAPT Support

Connecticut’s statewide testing program consists of two tests: the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT), which is administered in Grades 4, 6 and 8: and the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT), which is administered in Grade 10. Together, these assessments help guide curriculum and instruction in the direction Connecticut educators believe is important. The CMTs and CAPTs indicate student academic performance in relation to specific educational standards and help educators to deliver better instruction to best prepare students for the world they will face after graduation. And Mega Education^® is there!!

Mega Education^® incentives are not based on scoring, but rather on effort. Of course students will perform better if they show up, on time and give it their best effort! A special screening at the Crown Theatres or other event is reserved for CMT students who demonstrate perfect attendance, timeliness and effort during the 3 weeks of testing. Yearly, Mega Education^® provides a special screening at the Crown Theatres, as well as popcorn and soda for students from the participating schools meeting these requirements.

Mega Education^® sponsors a Super Saturday CAPT Preparation Program for 10th graders at the Sport and Medical Sciences Academy. Students surrender their Saturday mornings for 11 straight weeks to attend a preparation program for the CAPTs. Each Saturday, EVERY student who attends, on time, receives a pizza lunch and movie ticket to the Crown Theatres. Student performance has improved every year since.
